Behaviour Intervention Support Service

The Behaviour Intervention Support Service (BISS) provides positive behavioural support to individuals, families / carers, service providers and other professionals.

What does BISS do?
BISS works with people with challenging behaviour who are 12 years of age and over, and are living with their family. BISS uses positive approaches in identifying and managing challenging behaviours.

BISS offers flexibility in the range of services provided. Each plan is designed to meet each person's needs.
Aims of the service
  • improving quality of life for people who demonstrate challenging behaviours;
  • ensuring early identification and intervention to address the cause of the behaviours;
  • ensuring services meet the needs of the individuals, their families, carers, and/or service providers through providing support to manage or prevent challenging behaviours.
Who does BISS work with

People 12 years and over with an intellectual disability who display challenging behaviours, families and carers, service providers and other professionals.

  • a threat to themselves or others;
  • a member of a multiple disability family;
