About MDS Board Members

Who We Are Vision and Values Board of Directors Strategic Management Team
The MDS Board has changed over the years. As the organisation has grown, so too have the legal and financial duties associated with running a community business. The change to performance based contracts has required more sophisticated management and accounting practices, well developed policies and procedures, and a strong strategic direction, coupled with an understanding and commitment to the strengths and aims of the organisation.

BA, Master of Laws
Director since 8 February 2005. Bernie has experience in Community Legal Centres including: Manager of Macarthur Legal Centre, Burnside Adolescent Legal Services, Legal Presiding Member Guardianship Tribunal, Social Security Appeals, Child Support, and Consumer Trading.

Peter Crittenden :: Vice President
Dip. Law (SAB)
Director since 2002. Peter has 18 years experience in Property, Small Business and Probate Law, is a Partner with Marsdens Law Group, and has specialised experience and knowledge in contractual and legal matters.

Tony Eagar :: Treasurer

Bachelor of Business Studies, F.C.P.A., Registered Company Auditor, Justice of the Peace.
Director since 29 November 2005, partner of BCP Accounting and Business Advisors. Also a Certified Practicing Accountant with extensive experience in assisting and providing business advice to a broad range of organisations, associations, companies and benevolent institutions.

Rhonda McCaw :: Director
Certificate in OH&S, Associate Diploma in Health Science, Associate Diploma in Welfare Director since 1990.
Rhonda manages her own business and has extensive experience in rehabilitation and counselling.

Geoffrey Johnson :: Director
Personal experience of disability.
Director since 2000. Lifetime interest and involvement in the area of disability especially in Macarthur. Geoffrey recently retired after twenty years with Repco Auto Parts.

Ken Patterson :: Secretary
Director since 2006. Ken is a Director and Treasurer of the CHARGE Syndrome Association of Australia Ltd and has a background in accounting. He has served as a director on several not for profit organisations and has had a managerial experience in the field of aged care.

Wendy Manuell :: Director
Graduate Diploma in Social Science: Community Welfare
Joined the Board in 2007. Has worked with children and families for over twenty years in both the Non-Government and Government sectors in South Australia and New South Wales. Has a strong interest in Social Justice and Community development.
