MDS Get Active Macarthur Day

Showcases a wide range of inclusive sport, fitness and recreational activities

The MDS Get Active Macarthur showcases a wide range of inclusive sport, fitness and recreational activities. This event raises awareness about people with disabilities to the local community. Special needs and main stream schools, community groups, service providers and people with a disability have the opportunity to attend the event for free. 

Aligning with the NSW State Government policy ‘Stronger Together’ the event encourages choice for participants to express themselves and show their abilities as they participate in sport, fitness and recreational activities with the local community.

MDS Get Active Macarthur 2011 benefited over 8,700 people in the local community. Three thousand children and young people have benefited directly from participating in Get Active Macarthur since it was established in 2007.

MDS Get Active Macarthur is an entertaining, fun and educational event that provides a safe, stress free, social environment for children and young adults with a disability.

The event highlights the social and health benefits of active lifestyles and the importance of improving the physical fitness of a child with a disability.
