Campbelltown City Challenge Walk 2012

Join the MDS WALKING TOGETHER team on Sunday 11 March at the 2012 Campbelltown City Challenge Walk. It will be a 6km fun walk around the pristine Australian Botanic Gardens, Mt Annan.  There will be lots of activities on the day for all ages as well as prizes, sausage sizzles and refreshments.

This year we are hoping to top our record LARGEST TEAM category entry from last year. For a small fee of $14 ($9 registration fee and $5 for MDS Walking Together Shirt, not only will you be helping us achieve this goal, but you would also be showing your support for people with disability by choosing to walk with the MDS WALKING TOGETHER team.

Please register by downloading the Registration Form and paying the Entry Fee at Level 8, 138 Queen Street, Campbelltown. You will receive your T-Shirt when you come to MDS Head Office to register.

The purpose of the MDS ‘Walking Together’ team is to show support for people with disability and work with the community to continually break down barriers, overcome fear and ignorance, promote integration and social inclusion. By Walking Together, Working Together, Living Together and Having Fun Together we can change perceptions and enjoy a fun day as people enjoying life…come and enjoy life with us!

MDS Walking Together Team 2011 

In 2011 MDS had over 200 registered supporters and 500 other supporters that wore the shirts on the day. We hope to showcase the community support for people with a disability.

Each year the team is filled with MDS supporters, staff, family, carers and service participants with a disability that walk to outline the importance of disability awareness within the Macarthur Community. The team walks with a mission and interacts with the rest of the community in a fun and active day.

The goal of this event is to raise awareness of the abilities of people with a disability and the need to build an inclusive society. Each registered walker gives a donation for a t-shirt to promote their support. The t-shirts are sponsored by MDS corporate supporters to lower the cost for MDS.
