Since March 2020, we have maintained regular correspondence with participants & families, advising of the COVID-19 safe practices implemented across MDS to support the safety and well-being of all participants and staff.
To view previous correspondence, please see links at the bottom of the page.
We are pleased to say that participants & staff have willingly adopted the Covid-19 practices and these practices continue to remain in place. We have also provided information about suspensions to some services and changes to others as the health advice at the time demanded. Unfortunately, changes are going to continue to occur, sometimes with little notice, consistent with available advice about the status of the pandemic in the areas we operate.
MDS has implemented and continues to operate in accordance with the NSW Health advice as updated from time to time, particularly relating to supporting people with disability. You can check the current advice by following this link: https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/Infectious/covid-19/Pages/disability-support.aspx
The MDS Executive Team meets regularly to discuss and implement changes as they are issued, ensuring that we are offering the highest level of support and advice we are able to at any point in time.
There are a number of easy read resources now available about COVID-19 which may be useful to participants and families. You can find these by following this link: https://www.health.gov.au/resources/collections/coronavirus-covid-19-easy-read-resources
If at any time, you have a question about service delivery; our COVID safe practices or how MDS is responding to the pandemic please feel free to speak with your Support Worker, Service Coordinator or contact our Head Office on (02) 4621 8400 or firstname.lastname@example.org
